Some of the acts that I caught at SXSW 2007, Austin, were just insane. In a span of 5 days, I managed to see Bloc Party, Razorlight, The Bravery, Mika, The Good, The Bad and The Queen, Mew and many others. I cried during Mew's set. It was definitely the best set I caught at the festival. I could not hold back my tears when I heard 'Comforting Sounds' live. That song means a great deal to me. It accompanied me when I was all alone in the chemotherapy room, almost exactly a year ago, fighting to get well. I cried tears of joy when I heard the song live. I so wanted to scream; I made it! Life's good! I'm glad I managed to pull through my illness and got to listen to the song played live. Thank you. Thank you whoever you are, rewarding me with that moment of bliss and contentment, after that long, dark, chaotic times. That moment will always be etched in my memory. Always.
