Are you a believer?
Tarot readings. Something that has been a daily bedtime ritual for the past weeks. I am the Queen of Wands. Different decks of tarot cards for different occasions. I am much comfortable with the Rider Waite Tarot, which is the most widely recognized Tarot deck, and the first deck published in the 20th century. It was created by members of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, and is especially suited to questions of a mystical nature. Mystic or not.. I have to bear in mind: everything in moderation.
My first Tarot reading was done in London at a small shop I chanced upon, along Portobello Market. She read some happenings which I couldn't verify because I was not in Singapore. I listened and I left. Now, I own my very own deck. Sometimes, readings are good and I am elated by the good interpretations and when it is bad, it bothers me. I do wonder if ignorance is the best. Tarot readings, if read in the mornings, forecast the happenings in the day ahead and if it is read in the night, it sums up what happened during the day. I do ask myself if I really wanted to know so much.

The Cancer Devil
The Cancer Devil took the life of the mother of my student last week. She won't be taking her PSLE Listening Comprehension tomorrow.
===
The Cancer Devil took the life of Elizabeth Choy today at 2.30pm. She will always be remembered for her heroic role during the Japanese Occupation in Singapore during World War II

The Cancer Devil.
Home
Heard this song on the radio and I remembered that you said you love this song. I sat and listened and now, I can't wait to go home to you, Sweetie.
Michael Buble's 'Home'
Another summer day
Another winter day,
has gone by
In either Paris or Rome...
and I wanna to go home...
Home
and I'm surrounded by a million people
I still feel all alone
I wanna go home
I miss you
And I've been keeping all the letters that I wrote to you,
Each one a line or two
I'm fine baby, how are you?
I would send them but I know that
it's just not enough.........

bipolarity of guys
The Good
he springs surprises on every date you have, from flowers to chocolates to candle holders
he messages just to tell you how his day went and tells you how much he misses you
he puts you on a pedestral and worships the ground you walk on
he takes the trouble to cook you a nice romantic meal
he leaves sweet little notes for you at the most unexpected places
he holds you and tells you that he is the luckiest man on Earth
he loves you for who you are and not who he thinks you can be
he accepts your flaws and thinks that they make you quirky and unique
he sends flowers to your workplace, knowing you had a tough morning at work
The Bad
he hits you and said you made him lose control
he punches you in the eye and calls you unreasonable
he makes you get off his bike in the middle of an expressway when he is upset
he talks down to you and makes you feel like a blown-up doll or worse; a whore
he calls you a 'bitch' whenver he's upset
he's out with another girl when he tells you that he's out with his Aunt
The Ugly
he opens the door for himself; to a building or to a car, and leaves you stranded at the back
he makes excuses when it's time to pay or when the bill arrives
he drops all-too-obvious hints on what he wants on his birthday, anniversary... (he never stops wanting)
he wants to own everything but refuses to work for them
To the good guys out there; those who takes beautiful pictures of her and displays them with such pride, those who designs special t-shirts for her and actually gets them printed out as special gifts, those who holds her like there's no tomorrow.. I applaud you. Stay gold and keep the love vibes going. The world defintely needs more good guys like you..
Bangkok.. Bangkok..
Just got back from Bangkok. It was a teacher's day getaway since it was a long weekend. Left on a Thursday night and returned at midnight, on Sunday. I have yet to find the time to update the few precious pictures I took there. I am back at work and leaving for Bali tomorrow. I guess I will only upload the travel pictures when I get back from Bali. So for now, here's a write-up of my trip to the land where eating and shopping never end, Bangkok:
*****
By the time we arrived in Bangkok, it was already midnight. We stayed in Diamond City Hotel. We changed rooms on the second day because Sweetie felt that our initial given room was depressingly gloomy so we got another room, one with a balcony and more windows. Service was great and personalised, which is a thing I dig about small scale hotels. We walked the whole of town, visited the major shopping areas in a day.
*****
We had a 2.5 hour of spa treatment on our last night there. He enjoyed his massage but I didn't. My masseuse used her fingertips to "tap" my skin the whole time, no kneading to soothe those tired and aching muscles. It got rather irritating after a while. Sweetie was snoring away in the room, during his massage. Haha.. Nevertheless, it was a rather unique spa experience for me because we shared a sauna cubicle, which fitted only one person!
*****
Flight back to Singapore was delayed so we had 5 hours to kill before our rescheduled flight. FinAir provided us lunch and accomodation at a 5-star hotel, Miracle Grand Convention Hotel. The room superb, with French windows, giving us a nice view of the blue sky! The toilet has a nice comfortable bathtub, with a TV! We stayed put at the hotel, enjoying our 5 hours there. My verdict: The hotel room charges are rather steep but I think it is worth the experience.
