Foo Fighters "The Best Of You"

I’ve got another confession to make
I’m your fool
Everyone’s got their chains to break
Holdin’ you

Were you born to resist or be abused?
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Are you gone and onto someone new?

I needed somewhere to hang my head
Without your noose
You gave me something that I didn’t have
But had no use
I was too weak to give in
Too strong to lose
My heart is under arrest again
But I break loose

My head is giving me life or death
But I can’t choose
I swear I’ll never give in
I refuse

Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Has someone taken your faith?
Its real, the pain you feel
You trust, you must
Confess

Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Oh... Oh...Oh...Oh...Oh...
Has someone taken your faith?
Its real, the pain you feel

The life, the love
You die to heal
The hope that starts
The broken hearts
You trust,
you must
Confess

Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?

I’ve got another confession my friend
I’m no fool
I’m getting tired of starting again
Somewhere new
Were you born to resist or be abused?
I swear I’ll never give in
I refuse

Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Has someone taken your faith?
Its real, the pain you feel
You trust, you must
Confess

Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Oh...

the death of cinema's 4th gig @ Esplanade Posted by Picasa

The Death of Cinema played their 4th gig at the Esplanade's outdoor amphitheatre. Many fingers were crossed, praying that the weather permits them to play outdoors.. Their set was at 8pm and it started right on time, with a huge crowd awaiting their appearance.. They have definately gained public support and tons of fans turned up to watch them play. They played a total of 5 songs. Ess, the keyboardist, sang again.. =) They played an excellent gig and announced the launch of their website. For those who are interested in finding more about the band and their songs: do visit their website: http://www.thedeathofcinema.com Due to the overwhelming responses to the downloading of their music or songs online, their site has currently exceeded its bandwidth. But do drop the band a mail and request it to be mailed to you personally instead. Comparing to the other gigs that they had played, this is the one gig that the band played a kickass set with a tight band dynamics.. Before the gig, they had a long day, having to turn up for soundcheck at 8.45am in the morning and jam till afternoon.. Some of the members get to chill before the actual gig but some had to work.. So well done guys for pulling off a mind-blowing music experience, as always..

KLPHQ (soundcheck@baybeats2005) Posted by Picasa

The band that caught my attention, other than my all-time favourite the death of cinema, will have to be this malaysian band, KLPHQ. KLPHQ is an acronym for Kuala Lumpur Post-Harmonic Quintet. Playing music along the same line as d.o.c; post-rock/instrumental/electronic fusion... During soundcheck, the band was tight and the music that they were experimenting, the stretched out guitar sounds, just blew my mind away.. Awesome band..

Convocation

in the auditorium (hairul) Posted by Picasa

Convocation happened finally.. Been quite a wait.. I fell asleep during the speech, given by the prestige speaker, the principal from Anglican High School.. Hairul had to wake me up when the speech ended.. Mummy cried as expected.. She cried while donning the hood on my gown.. She cried while adjusting my mortar board.. Her eyes were again swollen.. My eyes were swollen too but not from crying and from the lack of sleep.. The convocation, as compared to the investiture, was solemn and much serious.. The degrees conferred that day were BA(Ed)s and BSc(Ed)s so the group was much smaller too.. The usual photo-taking thingy went on, from the groupie shots to the silly "mortar throwing" shots.. Due to the shortage of invites, Sweetie couldn't be there. I wish he was there though, sharing the joy and tasting the sweetness of my labour.. No matter how he said he is there with me in mind and spirit...

Danga Bay

danga bay: JB (3-7-05) Posted by Picasa

Drove up to JB's Danga Bay on Saturday. The place is a short drive from the Causeway.. The supposedly "so.. chill-out joint", as recommended by Dino turned out to be having some family events, having the beach and the entire place jam-packed with people. People were busy taking pictures, with the Danga cruise amidst the background.. There were pony rides to keep the kiddies occupied.. There was the skate arena, with its curbs, funbox and quarters.. stalls selling food and ornaments.. This is the place Sweetie and I saw our first breathtaking sunset (1904hrs). Totally awesome sight..
