Balaclava

going to spencer's pre-wedding party Posted by Hello

Spence's pre-wedding party was held at Balaclava this evening. He took the opportunity to hand out all the invites to all of us who came to grace the pre-wedding thingy.. I have walked past Balaclava many times but have never step in the place before. Always thought it is a yuppie hangout joint.. Today was my first time there. The usual suspects like Kelvin, Anders and gang were there before I arrived. Actually, my sentiments on the place as a yuppie hangout joint did not change much... The yuppie or yuppie wannabes crowd was a way bit stifling for me to bear plus the fact that Spence invited his friends, business associates and of course, the usual suspects, including myself. It was way too crowded for my comfort. So much for a chill-out joint. Met a lot of interesting people today; Gary See (Group Managing Director of Universal Music), Dave Boo (owner of Sembawang Music) and Justin (full-time architect and part-time lecturer at LaSalle), who we shared a pretty long conversation on Singapore’s art directions and how art is conceptualized these days. Beautiful people….tons of intellectually stimulating conversations….many glasses of cranberry juice got me through the evening at Balaclava…

angelina jolie n maddox (oh..he's so adorable) Posted by Hello

Definitely the world's sexist single mum.. No doubt about it. To top that up, Maddox, who's into fencing, is so... cute. I read somewhere that the little swordsman is a huge fan of Franz Ferdinand. How cool is that? You guys rock! \m/

Torn

What is written here today goes out to people out there, no gender specified, who you think you are torn between two person. I heard of people going around asking for opinions on what to do and who to choose. "I know yet I don't know"..."I'm sure yet I'm not sure".. "Why can't it be simpler?"... The truth is nobody can make that choice, except you. You can ask a million people and yet be in a limbo, with no choice made.. We can all love a dozen of people simultaneously but we can only be in love with one person at a time. We can have feelings for two people but we can not be in love with two people and should never pretend to be.. When one admires two people, the scales will have to tip on one side eventually; so even then, there is a choice to be made.
Being torn is a momentary state, where one is begging to have all their options laid on the table without disturbance, so that they could have all the time in the world to make the right choice, so that they will not live to regret. This is not love. I must say that it has little to do with love. Here, we are discussing who is ‘better'; who is ‘more suitable' for me. Not ‘whom I am in love with'. So.. it very much depends on case to case basis, ask yourself: are you after love or are you after material comfort or are you after "the best", regardless of whether you love the person or not.. (this will be love based on a sense of security.) A word of caution: Expectation comes with love. If you expect love, you will be hurt. There are people who hang on to the person they love with their dear lives, for fear they will leave them one day. That is not love as Apostle John once wrote, "Where there is perfect love, there can be no fear".
Love is one of the most powerful emotions that human can have. It takes hold of us with great passion and strength. It can lead us into temptation, and deliver us from evil. Whatever it is, I think the usage of the word 'love' has been abused. Many speak most eloquent words of love. Fewer show it in their lives. I still believe actions speak louder. Sweetie used to ask me to define love. I couldn't and neither can he. Weeks apart from him.. This will be how I would define love if he ever ask me again: Love is when you would do anything to be able to see the person. It is when you can’t stand one moment without that person. It is when you think about that person the first moment you wake up and the last second before you sleep at night. Our life on earth is a journey, where we are always in the search of the questions we cannot seem to answer and all the unanswered questions keeps making us feel as if we only exist and die into nothingness. Therefore, the ultimate answer to the meaning of life is 42. (heheh.. just kidding) On a serious note, I guess it's love..
For me, with love comes hope.. Love that tests true to diverse storms and passes the true love tests . When a relationship which goes through stormy times and still endures, it means that the butterflies still persist. The other person still gives you a reason to hold on; still has that something; the fire, the smile, the look in their eyes and the charm to make you still hold on, despite all the ups and downs. At this level, I will know that I love that person truly. So to people out there who have yet made a choice, ask yourself this: How will I define love?

CFH

Color Flash Holga (CFH) Starter Kit....I want....
Posted by Hello
Intrigued by the colour flash technology of some of the lomocameras, it is a dream come true, now that, it has been combined with iconic Holga (with its hectic characteristics of soft focus, light leaks and vignetting). The new edition to the lomocamera family uses a combination of colored flash light and a long shutter exposure.
A plastic wheel assembly inside the flash allows us to choose one of three permanently mounted color gels (yellow, blue, red) or a clear flash. Hmm.. I took a couple of amazing shots when I was in London with Sweetie's coloursplash and my own action sampler. I must say.. I am still very much in love with the colour experiment experience the coloursplash offers me.. Now that, the CFH is out. There is no doubt about investing in one..
Anyway, if anyone of you is wondering if I got myself the fisheye camera I was raving about the last time, Sweetie had someone got it for him as a gift.. Anyone of you out there game/up for getting that as a gift for me too?? Heheh.. Anyway, he said most of the pictures turned out pretty flat but I have yet to see them..

FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND "Your Revolution Is A Joke"
They stand to fight for nothing.
We show how stupid we've become.
As fortune favours only, those who care too much to see.
Oh, it will never be okay,
as some will say.
We stand to fight for nothing,
so close your eyes and stay away.
Don't believe their headlines
they poison our minds, everyday
Oh it will never be the same,
the purpose bearing everyday.
The lies that lead you into the grave.
As some will say.
And you will never be okay,
as some will say.
Purpose bearing everyday,
as some will say.
Lies that lead you to the grave,
as some will say.
your revolution is a joke,
as I will say..

the power of yoga Posted by Hello

YOGA

I'm back at yoga again. Felt really good after class. Wanted to do my usual run at the gym but I thought some breathing exercises and meditation might do me some good, now that my knees are pretty screwed from all that running I had been doing.. Anyway, it helps reduce my panic attacks, thats what I heard. How true? I'm not too sure.. Yoga meditation allows the mind to gradually gather strength before bringing up the images that might prove most frightening or challenging. I guess yoga serves as a focus of attention in times of panic.. To many yogis, the techniques developed to transcend, help to strip away the things that try to mis-define us; the emotions, sensations, desires, achievements and failures of daily life. Through yoga, I hope to learn to develop a greater awareness of my psychological state. As a result, I will be in a position to better manage my reactions to the thoughts, feelings and responses I have to the various situations I have to deal with. In my current second phase of introspection, I need to find out what actually defines me and strip away what mis-define me..
With greater awareness, comes the sensitivity and skill to find and remove the physical and psychological blocks that keep me from my true self. I hope it helps cut through the layers of mis-identities that arise in response to my feelings and it will calm the frenzy, clears the clutter and allows me to get back in touch with myself again.. I must admit I did leave the class, feeling really good.. It has been quite a while and it's about time..

GUNDAM

wing gundam zero custom Posted by Hello

Went to Takashiyma's toy fair today. The toy fair is a best-go for all toy collectors. I was like a little kid, lost in the world of toys. Out of the many toys at the fair, I was mesmerised by the GUNDAM figurines on display, especially the gundam wing series. The intricate details of the figurines are totally awesome.. To all gundam fans, do check out the toy fair.. To people who have yet discover gundam figurines and wondering what they are, heres alittle information: Gundam is an advanced mobile suit made entirely from Gundanium alloy, from which it derives its name.

The Rights to Life

the little miracles of life Posted by Hello
To define human life is to term the combined DNAs of species of homosapiens, which include the zygote, the ovary, embryo, foetus, the newborn and everyone of us. Every form of human life is valuable and important to preserve. Each and every form of human life has its civil rights, the rights to life.. People might disagree with me and question about whether a zygote, embryo, or foetus is a human person. People have different opinions about the stage at which human life becomes a human person, regardless of whatever trimester the form is in. This is the core disagreement, the war between "pro-life" and "pro-choice"..

The right to choose is not a luxury; it is a responsibility that demands intense introspection and awareness.. The termination of any form of human life is a wrenching experience, which causes a stigma.. What difference does it make to call the "terminator", the murderer or the butcher or the killer?? Ultimately, it is the killing of the weakest and most defenceless of the human forms.. Choice is a convenient way to eliminate these innocent things.. Where has maternal instinct for nurturing and bonding gone? It is the basic to our human society and it benefits us all yet there are people who execute immorally through choice. Think about the true value of life; with their little toes, fingers, and even their faint thumping heartbeats, the unborn deserves life too... I pray for these lives that were ommitted and refused of their rights to life..

face's so burnt from a day at the children's camp Posted by Hello

Spent a day at Costa Sand (Pasir Ris) with the 11 year-olds, under the hot, angry sun.. Seeing the children go through and complete the different obstacles set up for them proves to be a rewarding experience.. It sure makes my stand under the sun for 6 hours worth every minute of it.
